As the owner of Kely Cleaners, I take great pride in serving the north suburban community in which I have raised my family. I learned to sew and tailor out of necessity, because that was the only way that my family could afford clothes to wear. I came to the United States in 1982, by myself, at the age of 24. I started working as a tailor for Saks and then Hart, Shaffner and Marx.
In 1988, I started my own tailor shop in Skokie. As business grew, I expanded into other areas, including dry cleaning, laundering and even shoe repair. As is often the case, as we expanded our services, my wife and children all worked in the business. We are proud to serve as a 30-year old family-run business in the area in which we work and live.
