Charlie Gossett, founder of Lint-X started servicing dryer vents in 2006 under the name LintBusters. After 10 years of sound expansion primarily through word of mouth he decided it was time to service homeowners in greater numbers. To promote for the new expansion Gossett decided to rebrand and before the rebrand he decided to rename as several LintBusters had become established throughout the country since 2006.
He wanted a brand he could trademark and that could not be confused with other dryer vent cleaning service providers. In 2017 Lint-X was established. Today we operate multiple Lint-X work trucks out of Patterson, NY. We have an excellent team of administrative and technical staff trained and ready to work with you to keep your home safe.

With our video inspection system we can identify hidden problems to provide you with the necessary solution.
Sometimes we discover that a dryer vent system does not exhaust to the outdoors and is in fact blowing somewhere hidden inside your home.
There are many reasons for this such as a poorly taped and/or supported duct connection or an oversight during the construction of your home.

Bird nests and dryer vents don't mix.
It's best to prevent birds from entering your dryer vent.
You can do this with a simple cover called a bird guard that fits over your dryer exhaust.
A bird nest can completely clog your dryer vent leading to very long drying times, damage to dryer components and if neglected can be a real fire hazard.
Be warned however, bird guards themselves can clog up with lint.
It's very important that if you do have a bird guard over your dryer vent that you monitor and clean it on a regular basis.

If your dryer vent system exceeds the length prescribed by building code it may require a booster fan.
A booster fan is designed to activate automatically when your dryer turns on and helps to blow the exhaust air through and out of the dryer vent.
Already have a booster fan?
It's going to need to be cleaned and checked for proper operation periodically.
Lint can build up on the booster fan blades and cause it to vibrate loudly and can clog up (see photo) the fan to the point where it ceases to function.

Why should I get my dryer vent cleaned?
A dirty or badly installed vent can be a serious fire hazard.
It also costs you time and money.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission estimates that over 15,500 dryer related fires occur each year.
The CPSC reports that the most frequent starting point for these fires was the dryer vent area.
The typical scenario is simple: the dryer overheats, the lint catches fire and the fire is then helped by combustibles in the immediate vicinity (these fires can smolder for hours going unnoticed until after you've gone to bed or left your house for an errand).
