Services
Our story began in 1977 when Jeff Bradford established Bradford's Cleaners in Boyne City and offered both dry cleaning and coin laundry services.
In 1989, Jeff purchased Hooker's Cleaners of Charlevoix.
The business was renamed Bradford's Cleaners and operated as the main dry cleaning plant for the next fourteen years.
Jeff's son, Bryan, joined the company in 2003 and together they purchased Alpine Laundry and Dry Cleaning in Gaylord as their second of three locations.
At that time, Bryan and Jeff made the environmentally conscious decision to change dry cleaning solvents.
Your garments receive the very best care possible, and our dry cleaners and spotters have many years of experience.
Garments are cleaned according to their specified care label and attention is given to those items needing special care.
Bradford's Cleaners is a GreenEarth Cleaner, which is a non-toxic and odorless solvent.
This solvent is gentle on your clothes and helps maintain the original color of your garments.
If you need any garment fixed or repaired such as zippers, hemming, patches, lengthening or shortening, you can bring those items in for alteration.
Bradford's Master Dry Cleaners of Petoskey strives to make using our services as convenient as possible by offering delivery services at each of our locations, including our Charlevoix and Gaylord locations.
We thank you for your interest in our home office/pickup and delivery.
You'll find our service is easy to use and save you time, money, and gas.
Most dry cleaners today clean using petrochemical solvents.
About 70% use perchloroethylene (perc), classified by the EPA as an air and water toxin and a likely human carcinogen.
Dry cleaners follow strict regulations to reduce emissions and control its health and environmental risks, but there is no getting around the truth - perc poses a real danger to people and the planet.
It can also be hard on clothes, leeching dyes and wearing away surface fibers during the cleaning process.
About 25% of dry cleaners use hydrocarbon solvent, also a petrochemical.
Most of us wash our sheets and blankets fairly regularly, but the other stuff-comforters, quilts, and pillows-often don't fit in our washers, or are made of materials we don't know what to do with.
Professional dry cleaners know the best ways to treat these items to make sure they are fresh, clean, and stay in good condition.
But if you know exactly what your items are made from, here are some guidelines for at-home care.
Comforters and quilts can be gently vacuumed to remove dust and allergens.
