Odom Bradford Boone and Dorothy Boone started Boone Cleaners in 1931. Right in the midst of the Depression, the company was started with a loan of $100 dollars. Their philosophy of doing business was simple, they promised their customers they would do it right and they backed it with integrity. Their promise is still what drives our cleaners today.
In the 1950's, O.B. and Dorothy Boone's two sons joined the business. O.B Boone Jr. and James Boone helped grow the business from a small family operation to one that employed over 30 people. In the mid 50's, Boone Cleaners opened a new 15,000 square foot drycleaning and laundry plant that continues in operation today. The company also branched into the coin-laundry business and at one time had 7 coin laundries in Murray and surrounding counties.
Each coin laundry also served as a drycleaning and laundry pickup location. In 1987, O.B Boone Jr. was tragically killed in an automobile accident. It was at that time that James Boone's sons, Tony and Howard joined the family business.
