Carr's Rug Cleaning was founded in 1984 by Bob Carr. Two years earlier after a short career as a speech pathologist he helped form, with other family members, Fiber-Seal of East Tn. It was here that Bob began learning how to properly care for high end textiles. An introduction to Oriental rug cleaning came with a visit to Corrigan Rug Cleaners in Winchester, Va., and this meeting led to joining the Mid-South Professional Cleaners Association.
It was becoming apparent that education and training would be what set Carr's apart from other cleaning companies. Over the years Carr's has had a history of firsts in the Knoxville area; first certified carpet and upholstery cleaning technician, first Master Textile Cleaner, first Certified Rug Specialist in the state of Tennessee. There are two Certified Rug Specialists currently on staff.
Bob has been a sitting council member of the National Institute of Rug Cleaning. He has more recently served on the Board of Directors of ARCS, the Association of Rug Care Specialist.

She is married to her husband Jeff and together they have 6 children and 12 grandchildren.
