Aki's history as a Heirloom Cleaner of Taiwanese born Japanese Speaking American, Jina Yang Chang, began 30 yrs ago when she started her stitch n sew cleaner handed down from a Japanese Satow family, who operated the business as an artistic cleaner with specialization in fabric dye, rewoven services, dry cleaning and laundered services.
Jina, now vibrant in her eighties, grew up in an artisan family who taught fashion design in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Her late elder sister Jinya had a sewing school which taught Japanese elite Mode patterning techniques after World War II, and her sister in-law Keiko was a children couturier who made entrance pieces for youngsters.
