NOTE: Some occupants are more sensitive to these contaminants than others.
Allergy and asthma sufferers, as well as young children and the elderly, tend to be more susceptible to the types of poor indoor air quality that air duct cleaning can help address.
Your heating and cooling system is the lungs of your home.
The system takes air in and breathes air out.
We create a great number of contaminants and air pollutants, such as dander, dust, and chemicals.
These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average.
According to the national fire protection association, this common household appliance was the cause of more than 15,500 US home fires in 2010 and over one hundred million in property damages, lint and debris builds up in your dryer hose and vent duct, reducing air flow, backing up exhaust gases and eventually creating a fire.
Your lint trap traps about 60% of the lint, the other 40% goes up through your dryer vent and dryer vent system.
You can prevent a disaster by inspecting and cleaning your dryer vent every year.
The National Fire Protection Association, says chimneys, fireplaces and vents should be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits and correct clearance, cleaning, maintenance and repairs should be done if necessary.
This is the national safety standard and it is the correct way to approach the problem.
If you do not use your chimney much animals may build nests in the flu or there may be other types of deterioration that could make the chimney unsafe to use.
Creosote deposits in the chimney is a natural by-product of wood burning which is a fire hazard.
